Where: Peale Bridge, Grassflat - Rt 53 Bridge, Moshannon
Held on a remote 7.5-mile section of Moshannon Creek between Peale Bridge near the town of Grassflat, PA and the Route 53 Bridge near the town of Moshannon, PA. At moderate levels this section of creek is rated Class II+ on the International Scale of Difficulty. High water significantly increases the difficulty. Extra flotation in boats is highly recommended. Most years there are numerous swims and bent boats!! Cold water paddling clothing is recommended. The stream & air temperatures are usually very cold.
RACERS SHOULD HAVE SELF-RESCUE AND SWIFT WATER PADDLING SKILLS
Any registered racer may enter the poker race. Collect 4 cards along the racecourse and a fifth card at the awards ceremony. High hand wins a prize.
Racers will be eligible to win prizes. Drawing will be held at the awards ceremony.
Receive your prize ticket when you turn in your race bib at the finish line.
AWARD CEREMONY & POST RACE MEAL
Awards will be presented at Saint Severin’s Social Hall in Drifting on Route 53. A delicious meal will be available for a very reasonable price.
PRE RACE FUN
The Grassflat Moose Club invites Red Mo paddlers and racers to the Moose Club Friday night.
They will have menu specials & prizes. Saturday morning the Moose Club will have a breakfast special for paddlers and racers.
Parking is limited. Arrive early, car pool with other racers. The residents of Grassflat, Moshannon, and other area towns have been gracious and tolerant of boaters for many years. We ask that you show equal respect by driving slowly and safely in the vicinity of the race.
